Brooks and I: Walking for Hope
On Sunday 30 March, Brooks and I will be walking/running 25km to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House!
Brooks was born at 34 weeks, and our journey started with over 2 weeks of bed rest and constant monitoring before his arrival. During that time, Blake and I spent as much time as we could in the Ronald McDonald room, finding comfort and support while we faced the uncertainty ahead. After Brooks was born, he spent another 2.5 weeks in hospital before he was strong enough to come home. The Ronald McDonald Room was our safe haven and especially Blake’s lifeline as a place of comfort and to get food and rest.
Today, Brooks is a healthy, almost 9-year-old, and he’s eager to give back to the organisation that helped our family so much. The Ronald McDonald House provides a safe space for families to stay close to their sick children during challenging times.
It costs $160 to support a family for one night. Please support our walk to help keep families together while they face some of the toughest moments of their lives.
